Today, I pay a visit to Dr. Subra's Centre For Skin Diseases in Jalan Ong Kim Wee, Melaka historical city. It is a brief visit. My mother is attending a meeting in Melaka, so my father take this opportunity to bring me for treatment.

When we first arrived there, I register myself at the counter. I guess this is an old clinic based on the appearance. The registration process is computerized. I just give them my particulars. but, I still get my physical appointment card, with stamped date and hand written name. The doctor in charged today is Dr. Muniandi.

There are 2 more people before my turn. I waited there for about 30 minutes, while reading a book. It is quite convenience to bring a book along wherever you go. Finally, it is my turn to meet the doctor. My name was called by the assistant from the doctor's room.

I entered the room and greet the doctor. He looks like tired or something, but i don't want that to get over my objective of meeting the doctor. So I told him that I had psoriasis. He is aware of that and ask me if i am on observation or any kind of medication. I told him about my usage of polytar and citrizine, but i do not have any kind of observer. I think. I also told him about my psoriasis that occurs in the private part.

He prescribed me with 3 kind of ointment. 2 for morning use, 1 for the private part, 1 for body. Another one is for night usage. He also give me capsules which i forget what it is for... [sad]. He advised me to avoid food that can cause itchiness, and decreased my meat consumption. Tomatoes and eggplants are two veggies to avoid. He also told me to get more exposure to the sun, especially in the morning. It is a good source of vitamin and all sort of nutrient you could ever imagine. I thanked the doctor before leaving the room.

I waited in front of the counter for my prescription. It cost me RM140. It seems to be quite a lot of money but that is the price if you go to a specialist. Now, I am very eager to be a weekday vegetarian, and be healthier!

I am not sure how it comeback.. but suddenly it become very worst. could be my diet, stress management, or allergic.

but i am pretty sure it is because of my environment, related to my allergic. i am allergic to house dust and house mites. it is my no 1 allergic factor [5 out of 5]. i have been living in my own rented room for the last 4 months and it gets better. but when i go to other place, like my parents house, it starts to flare up again. last week is my worst case scenario. i got asthma attack, flared psoriasis and uber muscle's pain.

Maybe it is related to my diet too. i have similar meals everyday, about 3 to 4 varieties only for the last 3 months. it sure improves my condition and i hardly feels itchy.

Stress. the last 4 months i have been working in a stressful environment. but it does not contribute to my flaring. last two weeks is a leisure time. and it suddenly flared. is it a sign to work hard and stop loitering?

Above of all, i need medication. i need the flares to reduces by January. I am going to another environment, i am starting to study again and i am going to take care of myself!

I don't know if this always work, but acupuncture is sure something. It helps my blood circulation work effectively.

guess what, after the treatment my eyes gets better. Is it miracle? I don't know, but i am sure acupuncture is something.

Mungkin ada sahabat sahabiah yang telah mengetahui.. aku tertarik dengan satu hadith Nabi SAW yang baginda ucapkan lebih kurang 1400 tahun dahulu..Kencing Unta @kencing kuda boleh dijadikan ubat....

hmmm.. agak jijik bukan? tapi, ini adalah salah satu hadith Rasulullah..

sebagai rujukan, kitab "Al-I'tibar fil nasakh wal mansukh minal Isar" oleh imam Aba Bakar Muhammad bin Musa Alhazimi Alhamzani"

muka surat 289.

Maksudnya: "Bahawa serombongan suku ‘Ukal seramai lapan orang datang menemui Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam, lalu mereka berikrar kepada Nabi untuk masuk Islam. Kemudian cuaca kota Madinah merimaskan mereka dan mengakibatkan tubuh badan mereka sakit-sakit, lalu mereka mengadukan hal itu kepada Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam. Baginda bersabda kepada mereka: 8

"Barangkali elok kamu pergi bersama tukang gembala kami kepada untanya, kemudian kamu dapatkan air kencing dan susunya." Mereka menjawab: "Baiklah." Mereka pun pergi dan meminum susu dan kencing unta itu, setelah itu mereka pun sihat. Tetapi kemudian mereka membunuh tukang gembala Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam itu dan merampas unta-untanya........

Di dalam Kitab ini ada disebutkan sanad hadith..Pengajian malam tadi berkaitan hadith ini sebenarnya membincangkan nasakh mansukh dalam hukum Qisas.. hadith ini ada sambungan lagi..

aku cuma nak tekankan tentang salah satu perubatan Rasulullah SAW yang telah terbukti hari ini.. Subhanallah!!!

Percaya atau tak, dah ada segolongan manusia yang menggunakan air kencing sendiri sebagai rawatan pencegahan penyakit. air kencing diminum untuk mencegah dan merawat penyakit-penyakit tertentu... halangan utama dah tentu masalah psychology ..sape sanggup minum angkat tangan!!!!

ini adalah hadith... malah Imam Bukhari juga meriwayatkannya..

psoriasis is often related with other diseases especially allergies.
i am asthmatic since my childhood. I will breakdown if anything triggers my allergies. Dust, house dust, dust mite etc.

Last 2 nights, i can hardly breath and if i breath through the mouth, i will sound like a donkey...
"hey hoooo hey hoooo" like that...
my back is in pain because i can't stand or lie straight. I am always bending my body to allow more air into my lungs. I can hardly rest.

last evening, i told my dad to bring me to the clinic. It is idulfitri and my family clinics is on holiday. so we went to another clinic.

I asked the other to give me gas treatment. but the doctor suggest me a better medication, using jab. It don't remember what it is called, but by doing some search on Google it is likely to be Xolair... i am not sure.

The doctor jabs me on the upper arm and after 30 seconds, i feel more comfortable and can breath comfortably. He also prescribe me with 5 more medication, for flu, cough, allergy, antiabiotic and an asthma medication syrup [probably predisolone syrup].

The clinic charge me RM40, paid by my father :p

Thank god i am healthier now.

my mom and dad is concern about my health condition... that they bought me these two items... multivitamin for my daily supplement and prune essence thats is said to be good for your innershine... whatever it is...

the multivitamin is tasteless... but the prune essence is something to taste...

lets see where we go from here...

Snowy day = Shampoo day

when it is snowy... it is time for a shampoo...
now it is now the weather...
it is the snowy flakes that falls from top of my head...
luckily i have brought along my Polytar with me to the hostel.
one wash is enough to keep of the flakes from my head until tomorrow... or to days later... or whenever i need it again :D

another plague is already affecting my ear lobes... it is so itchy and feels good to scratch... i am relieved and satisfied until i realize it is bleeding because of excessive scratching... ouch...

moral of the story, always shampoo your hair and stop scratching :)

"whats on your nose"

and other similar questions.

mind your own business please. does my eyes condition irritates you? It is me who bares the itch.

It is called Psoriasis. Does it necessary or me to tell everybody that "I HAVE PSSORIASIS"?

Do i need to wear a sign saying "I HAVE PSORIASIS"...

duh, even if i told you that i have psoriasis, would you care? Why even asked that question in the first place at all?

Here are some facts.

Psoriasis does not transmit from one people to another.
Psoriasis does not have a cure [yet].
Psoriasis does not kill you [unless you are so stupid to commit suicide because you have one].
Psoriasis can occurs on anyone, no matter what race you are, where you come from, how old are you.

Psoriasis can be controlled by living a healthier lifestyle and cleaner environment. So, i always take my bath everyday, clean my bed, and avoid smokers in action.

next time anyone ask similar question, i will give them this link. oh, maybe i should include it in my namecard too.

It is a lovely evening that day when me and severals friends are traveling in Malacca. I suggested them to have dinner at my favourite Ikan Bakar spot at Padang Temu. I ordered a Jenak to be grilled with chillis. I declined the offer of prawns because i am very aware of it, but, not the Sepahat. I totally forgot about Sepahat, that belongs to the shell species.

And, later on, it started to itching all over my body... which worsen my Psoriasis condition.

urgh... the aftermath is very long. until now, there is no sign of getting better. skins keep on growing and falling on certain parts. The only medication that i take now is a pill known as citrizine. actually it is not my medication, it is for my father's allergies. but, it works to for me. i did not take it regularly, unless it is very unbearable.

Allergy Test

psoriasis is not caused by allergy... but allergy test could help you prevent from scratching and uncomfortable feeling when you accidentally crashed with your allergies because you don't know...

In Malaysia there are many allergy test available. as for me, i went to BP lab in Malacca to do allergy test by blood. it cost me nearly RM400 [including transportation and miscellaneous]. it test 29 common allergies. my result is out within fortnight. yesterday i went to take the result.

i have a total IgE of 3... that means i do have allergies. the higher the number the worse. highest number 4. my test shows that i am allergic to shrimps, crab clams, mites and house dust mite. the doctor suggest me to stay away from those foods and keep my environment clean.

when you are allergic, it is stressful. and in my case, it promotes psoriasis. even though allergies are not the real cause, but it can worsen the psoriasis condition. rite now psoriasis is all over my head [scalp, ears, nose, eye lid] and my legs. some at the abdomen, arms and genital area. it is not severe but still noticeable.

social is a bit stressful with people asking about the dandruff... and they dunno about psoriasis when i told them about it. it just end up with oh.. and eee...

it comes and goes

as my doctor warn, psoriasis comes and goes. sometimes it appears, and later it disappears. and later it appears again.

right not im prohibiting myself from eating chicken. i don't know if it really helps. but, it is to early for results. also i avoid shrimps and prawns, as it promotes itchiness.

looks like the gypsum fibrosum helped....
i have fewer falling scalp off my head.....
and my skins are less harsh now...
im just applying some aloe vera gel on the area that has been wounded because of scratching...

i think because of the lower body temperature my auto immune is less active
another assumption is the lower level of stress promotes to better skin condition.......

so i think im getting better now...

"Air Badak" @ Gypsum Fibrosum

my doctor suggest me to take "Air Badak" or Gypsum Fibrosum. in Malaysia, we can easily get this "Air Badak" from the minimarket and shops. It is populor among the malaysian as a body temperature cooling agent. whenever a person have high fever, they will immediatley seek for this "Air Badak".
"Air Badak" is actually a water containing dilluted Gypsum Fibrosum. each bottle contains about 400 mg of Gypsum Fibrosum.
I haven't figured out any effect of it toward psoriasis... yet...... but i'll try it for another week to see if anything changes.

last two weeks, is my sick week.
i got a flu, a backpain, headache, and the worst is my psoriasis spread all over my body.
oh it is very irritating. all the ichiness and dropping of dead skin cells.
luckily there is a medication for it.
anyway i'm getting well now.

a doctor told me that psoriasis can be healed, but there is no cure for it. i dont really understand this. but what i can see is... sumtime this thing just get better.. no scalp nothing.... but sumtime there is scalp everywhere....
so the conclusion is.... whenever the scalp appears... time for polytar shampoo :p
polytar shampoo is stinks.. but not as stink as you think.. actuallt it is quite some smell.... but i can bear with it.. more than i can bear falling scalps :p

looks like the polytar have shown some good results. the scalps has have decreases and so did the itchiness. maybe a few more weeks it will be gone. but the doctor told me, psoriasis will not fully cured. it can come back after a few months. so i need to be alert and I'm going to need medication for my entire life if i have to.

as im having this scalp problem... ive tried many types of anti dandruff shampoo. not just shampoo, i also used anti dandruff hair gel. it seems to slow down the dandruff but not so efficient. last december, i went to a specialist doctor. on the first meeting, he suspected me for psoriasis. but not confirmed yet. i was given a medicated cream and a shampoo, selenium sulfide ( which is very stinks...). for me to use for a week. after a week, i went back to the doctor. since there is not much changes, so the doctor confirmed me having psoriasis. i was told to bought a new shampoo, polytar liquid(which is stinkier....). hopes for a better result.

back to 2000, i discover some flakes fell from my head. my head feels so itchy that i cant resist to scratch. the flakes fells like a snow. it looks like a joke. really. having snow in a hot country.... at first it is not so disturbing but afterwards things get really messy. the flakes is all over my house. whenever i sit to study i cant resist to scratch as the tensions grows. thing keep going like this for the next 7 years
